SUMMARY:Mannes Orchestra Performs with the Martha Graham Dance Company-POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:The Company’s 2020 performances feature beloved pieces from Graham’s repertory including her bewitching riff on the Odysseus myth\, Circe; and her stirring anti-war statement Chronicle. Programs will also offer works by some of today’s top choreographers including Pam Tanowitz\, Maxine Doyle\, and Bobbi Jene Smith\, and a premiere by groundbreaking choreographer Andrea Miller. All performances feature live music performed by The Mannes Orchestra under the baton of David Hayes. \nProgram: \nSchuman – Night Journey \nHovhaness – Circe \nCopland – Appalachian Spring \nRiegger – Chronicle \nLloyd – Panorama \nAfter a very successful collaboration with MGDC in 2014\,  Mannes was invited to collaborate in Spring 2018 in a series of performances of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring (RoS).  The MGDC collaboration has been so successful that Mannes and David Hayes received a standing invitation from the Artistic Director of MGDC to perform with them on a bi-annual basis.
